Many of these large manufactures are very leery of sponsorships and partnerships because they have been burned time after time. Often companies have placed equipment in the hands of builders to use and promote and they simply do not get much out of the deal. This especially rings true to those that have their own TV shows. They want all of the really awesome equipment to use on their show, but with production companies and networks involved, things get clouded and greedy quick. These media inclusions take away the power of creativity for the host(s). Unless you’re paying the network as a sponsor, little, if anything, is spoken about on the shows regarding the placed equipment.

This is where Garage Bound, LLC comes into play. We do not have those restrictions and are able to do, use, and promote whatever we want. It’s no big deal for us to simply document our projects using the awesome equipment we have!

Scotchman is such a case … We had a lot of due diligence to go through in effort of partnering with this manufacturer. Leading by example on social media pays off!

We are humbled to have the opportunity to have one of Scotchman SU-280 G bandsaws in our shop! This machine has been a game-changer for our cutting needs. We now have extreme accuracy, as well as time-saving attributes for our material processing.

We have made zero changes to the machine itself, it works superbly right out of the crate; however, since nothing is stationary in our shop, we have a custom roller system we made from their stock rollers. This alteration allows us to load the machine on our flatbed and take out to the field when we have a lot of cutting to do, such as large handrail jobs, etc. Our table rollers are removable and our bandsaw has a special frame that allows us to pick up and move around with a forklift. The versatility of this machine is simply amazing.

With the SU-280 G’s 8″ cutting capacity, we have found nothing we cannot do! This capacity fits our normal workflow perfectly. We used to cut most things with cut-off wheels and each of these wheels are somewhere between $5.00 to $6.00 apiece! This adds up when you have two or three people working in a shop. We are still on our original bandsaw blade and it has been working for months. We have saved an extreme amount of money just in cut-off wheels, have been extremely more accurate on or mitres, and have been much safer due to a reduced amount of grinder cutting.

Scotchman is proudly American Made and they strongly support the Workshop for Warriors.

The Scotchman SU-280 G bandsaw is a home run for us here at Garage Bound, LLC!!!
